Researchers Develop Electronic Patch To Treat Acne.
The UK's Daily mail (9/20, Dobson) reported that a "high-tech skin patch" developed by Israel-based technology company Oplon "may be a new way to cure acne. The patch works by producing an electric charge to kill the bacteria associated with the condition." The patch is now undergoing clinical trials in about 100 people who "will wear the patches overnight for around six hours." Results are expected by the end of this year. The patch may be available commercially by 2012.
